I am a communications professional with a wide range of experience spanning more than 30 years.
I provide strategy, writing, design, and speaking expertise to help clients successfully promote their products and services and tell their stories. I believe that well-written, well-designed materials can increase clients’ business and contribute to their bottom line.
Throughout the years, I have helped many small businesses, corporations, trade associations, public relations firms, and Members of Congress improve their communication and generate increased interest in their products and services.
My experience in the communication field ranges from writing and designing brochures, newsletters, news releases, letters, and fact sheets, to implementing detailed marketing and communication plans, to writing, designing, and maintaining web sites.
I have conducted marketing and publicity campaigns for many organizations, and my efforts have resulted in editorial mentions in Elle, GQ, Family Circle, the Miami Herald, the New York Post, and many other national publications.
I have also taught public speaking classes at Georgia Southern University and consistently received excellent reviews from my students, who cited my professionalism, inclusiveness, and enthusiasm as keys to helping them succeed in class.
In addition to my communication consulting business, I am also active in the fitness industry as a group fitness instructor. I am an ACE-certified personal trainer, a Registered Yoga Teacher, and a RRCA Running Coach. I use my writing and speaking skills to educate people on the importance of leading a fit and healthy lifestyle.
I have a Master of Arts in Professional Communication and Leadership from Armstrong State University, a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Desktop Publishing Specialist Certificate from The George Washington University.
My husband Ed (a pilot and a retired Naval Officer and Aviator) and I have three children: Natalie, Jacqueline, and James. I am also active in my parish, St. Anne Catholic Church.

I relied on Shannon as a valuable member of my staff. She demonstrated great initiative and dependability, as well as an ability to effectively manage many tasks at once. Shannon’s ability to pay attention to details and to organize her priorities were essential to the operation of my Congressional office. Shannon also has the talent for communicating ideas and issues in a clear, concise manner. In fact, her written communications skills are among the best I have seen.
- Charles J. Luken, Former Member of Congress
Marketing expert extraordinaire! The fact is you always have been a wiz helping us where we needed it most and using your talents where they could do the most for the Tour & Tea. I cannot say enough good things about you and never could I express my appreciation enough for the work and talent you put into your “official” position and the unofficial tasks you took on. God bless you for all you have done for St. Vincent’s and the preservation and restoration of the Convent of St. Vincent de Paul of the Sisters of Mercy.
- Loretto D. Lominack, Director of Alumnae Affairs & Alumnae Events, St. Vincent’s Academy
I especially like how I can give Shannon a project, with general parameters, and she takes the ball and goes! I get a simple plan and regular feedback so that I feel “in control.”
- Stephen Geoffray, Insurance Executive
Shannon GaNun was Automation, Inc.’s first public relations representative. She was instrumental in getting us started and in securing my first television appearances. We really appreciate her help in laying the foundations of what has become a very successful company. Incredible as it seems, Clean Shower is now the #1 selling brand of shower cleaner in the United States! I would highly recommend Mrs. GaNun.
- Robert H. Black, Chairman of the Board, Automation, Inc.
Shannon was an extremely important representative of our firm with our clients, team members and the community. And while her duties included the traditional PR activities of written communications and media relations, project management, marketing coordination and client service, I suggest that she could successfully manage just about any opportunity that involved the use of her mind, her pen and her people skills.
