The moment of decision is the moment we all must learn to master.
We constantly have to make choices, so we must learn to master the moment of decision when it arises.
One way I have done this is by thinking of my future self and how I will feel based on this decision. For instance, if I really want a cookie, ice cream, or other treat in the moment, I think about how my future self will feel after I eat it. I even try to think a few years down the line and how I will feel when I am not as healthy as I could be.
This line of thinking helps me choose to not eat the cookie—it does not always work, but nine times out of ten it does.
It helps me remember that we make our own future with our choices, and if we master the moment of decision, we help shape a better future.
